Danyelle Edwards Welcome Letter to Parents
-
Dear Families,
It is my pleasure to welcome you and your child to the 2024-2025 school year. Last year, we successfully transitioned to a full-day preschool program, with over 80% of our students meeting or exceeding expectations in literacy and social skills, and 60% achieving or surpassing math skill checkpoints at the close of the school year. These accomplishments reflect the dedication of our staff and the support of our families.
Our commitment to providing a high-quality preschool program remains strong. We aim to foster social and academic development to ensure our students are well-prepared for kindergarten. This year, we will continue investing in our teachers' professional development, equipping them with the latest strategies and tools to enhance their instructional practices. Our goal is to support each child’s unique learning journey and ensure their success as they transition into kindergarten.
The staff and I are eagerly anticipating the first day of school on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 9:30 am. Please note that this will be an early dismissal day, with dismissal at 1:30 pm. To help you and your child become familiar with Malberg and our staff, we have scheduled our 2nd annual Sneak-a-Peek on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 2:45 pm to 3:30 pm. There will be a bus demonstration from 2:45 pm to 3:00 pm followed by classroom visits from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
Attached to this email, you will find our digital Welcome Packet. Please visit the Genesis Parent Portal to complete the required electronic forms. Remember to update your contact information if any changes occur throughout the year. You will be able to access your child’s teacher and bus information in Genesis once all forms are completed on or about August 22, 2024. If you have any transportation issues, please contact our Transportation Department at 856-489-5851.
Back to School Night is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 5:00 pm. More details to come!
Drop Off/Pick Up – Important Information
Beginning the first day of school, all children who are dropped off and picked up by their parent or designee will do so at Door 4. Children will not enter or exit through the main entrance during arrival and dismissal. Doors will open for drop-off at 9:30 am and for pick-up at 3:30 pm. All parents or designees must park on the street during these times. Please refrain from entering the parking lot or walking in the bus area, and be mindful of residents' driveway clearances when parking on residential streets. A map is included in the Welcome Packet.
Please feel free to call our main office if you have any questions.
Attached, you will find our Digital Welcome Packet and Family Handbook.
